Our story

Rooted in service. Made for family time.

We’re Lee and Martha Ayers, the family behind Ayers Rentals. Service is a defining part of our story: Lee served 24 years in the United States Air Force, and Martha retired from the Air Force Reserves after 20 years of service. Together, those 44 years of service are an important part of the life we bring to hosting.

Our Christian values are at the heart of how we live, raise our family, and welcome others. For us, faith and service belong together: treating people with honesty and kindness, caring for what has been entrusted to us, and giving back to our communities. That spirit connects our military service, family life, and hospitality. Our hope is that every guest feels welcomed and cared for.

Lee’s work in healthcare continued that commitment to service. A 2020 Sutter Health profile followed his transition from Air Force supply-chain operations into healthcare, where he helped teams secure protective equipment during the early COVID-19 response. It’s a part of our story that speaks to preparation, teamwork, and caring for people.

Today, we’re raising five children in Tennessee, where family life shares the calendar with caring for a small farm and running our real estate business. Lee has also spent the past seven years working in healthcare. It’s a full life, built around people, responsibility, and the places we call home.

For about eight years, we’ve managed rentals while growing our family and business. Our aim is simple: to offer places where guests can settle in, spend time together, and enjoy the setting around them. As parents of five, we understand why room to gather—and room to unwind—can matter just as much as the destination.

That’s reflected in our four homes: Island Time in Surf City, North Carolina, Mama Bear in Sevierville, Timber Lodge in Bluff City, and Treedom in Jonesborough. From Atlantic beach days to mountain views and quiet woodland evenings, each offers a different way to make time for the people you love.

We want you to know the people behind your stay. Whether you’re planning a family beach vacation, a Smoky Mountain getaway, a Bristol-area visit, or a treehouse escape, we invite you to explore our homes and find the one that fits your trip.

From our family to yours, welcome.
